Golf-TOO MUCH INSIDE OUT PATH-CAUSE OUTSIDE IN?

golf instruction

Just read that the proper 'inside out path' needs to be more vertical than the 'outside in/over the top path",which Ive always known is too steep. huh?

Is the outside in swing /fat shot/cutting across/usually from swinging too much inside then getting trapped?

I tried to avoid steep(o/in) by swinging more inside on backswing/trying for a flatter swing. Ive been told in the past that 'your too steep' So has efforts on being flatter made it actually steeper/over the top?

, 3,4,5,6,irons have always been really inconsistent. Could never figure it out. They always felt too heavy to get swinging. Recently heard this is when you take it too inside.

you are very very close. you just found the fault. your hands are stuck. the club is fine. you are just forcing it to far inside. getting stuck. is a term used when your hands overotate to compensate for to far inside. it is a form of coming over the top. this one can be done online. just grip club left hand .pushy away straight and slow. 6 to 8 inches. you can do it watching t v. sprawled on couch. drive you employer nuts at work. when you get bored. which is quickly. try waist high to waist high. you found the problem on your own. very well done. your body will place the club were it should be. your backswing shorter. ball straight . scores down. position at top will feel strange. when you see results. good

I’ve been teaching 20 yrs…and you have me confused! One 30 minute lesson can fix this with a half-assed teacher, let alone a good one. It’s really hard to fix a swing online.

I’ll let you in on a little secret. If you are standing the proper distance from your golf ball at address, an "outside-in" swing path is IMPOSSIBLE! If you don’t believe that. try this experiment. Inside-against a wall. Stand the appropriate distance from the wall and sole your club so the toe almost touches the wall where it meets the floor. Start the club away while turning and watch what happens with ABSOLUTELY no hand action, or manipulation at all. No matter how hard you try, you CANNOT keep the club head against the wall no less go THROUGH the wall. Besides, the proper swing path is neither inside to out, or outside to in. It’s inside the target line-back TO the target line and then back inside the target line. None of which requires you to do ANYTHING to make that happen. It’s simple physics. In order to come over the top of your target line, you need to be standing way too close to your ball. If you WANT to hit a slice, or a fade, that’s one of the adjustments you must make. Stand closer so you actually CAN produce that path on purpose.
